Borussia Dortmund have added six more seats to their Signal Iduna Park stadium, taking the overall capacity to 81,365 ahead of the new season.

The additions were made possible following the completion of recent renovations to the ground, which will allow the club to seat 248 more spectators - a total of 66,099 - for Champions League games.

Dortmund, who have the biggest stadium in Germany, have a season ticket waiting list comprising of 50,000 fans.

The Signal Iduna Park was packed out for almost every game last term, which helped the Bundesliga edge the Premier League for the highest average attendance in Europe.

The average number of supporters at a German league game last season was 40,693 compared to the English top-flight's 35,838.
