Arsenal defender Nacho Monreal has revealed that he watched The Notebook instead of England's friendly against Norway last night.

The defender was left out of the Spain squad for the current round of internationals, leaving him with a two-week break between matches.

The 28-year-old posted on Twitter during the game: "Watching a very good film, The Notebook".

The 2004 romantic drama stars Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams.
