Wales win keeps semi-final hopes alive

Wales remain in contention in the netball competition following a 47-35 win over Barbados in their pool match.

Wales have beaten Barbados 47-35 in the pool stage of the netball event to keep the team in with a chance of reaching the semi-finals at the Commonwealth Games.

Both teams needed the victory to keep them in the competition, but it was the Welsh side that made the stronger start to lead by five points at half time as Chelsea Lewis and Cara Lea Moseley notched up the points.

Wales continued to create more chances than their opponents in the second half, with Rebecca James coming into the attack late on to increase their advantage.

The win moves Wales up to fourth in their pool with one game still to play, but they will need the remaining games elsewhere to go in their favour if they are to finish in the top two.
