Ron Dennis has denied claims that Jenson Button will definitely leave McLaren and possibly Formula 1 at the end of the season.

The Sunday Times had claimed that the Honda-powered team told Button, 36, at Spa that he will be replaced by Stoffel Vandoorne.

However, McLaren supremo Dennis has told Sky Sports News that the contract talks, while imminent, have not taken place yet.

"We've always said that Monza would be when we discuss it internally. A final board decision will be taken at the end of September - that's the plan and it's always been the plan," he said.

Button currently sits 15th in the driver rankings.
