Nuno Espirito Santo and Warnock have cleared the air.

Wolves head coach Nuno Espirito Santo insists he has learned his lesson from last season's heated exchange with Cardiff boss Neil Warnock.

The two managers were embroiled in an a spat the last time the sides met in April. Warnock was unhappy Nuno had run on to the pitch to celebrate Wolves' dramatic away win against their Sky Bet Championship title rivals instead of shaking Warnock's hand, after Cardiff had missed two stoppage-time penalties.

Warnock repeatedly swore at Nuno and later called him "a disgrace" in his post-match press conference, saying the Portuguese had gone against the etiquette of what is expected of managers in England.

Wolves return to Cardiff on Friday night for their latest Premier League fixture, and Nuno insists the air has been cleared.

"What happened was clarified and we had a chance to speak, not only by phone but personally," said the Wolves head coach in his pre-match press conference.

"We also spoke at the LMA (League Managers' Association) awards and had a good moment. Things are clear, I respect him a lot and we are going to compete tomorrow. I am going to shake his hand, before and after. I have learned my lesson.

"It's the past. I understood in that moment how Neil reacted and I apologised and I will not repeat it again. Our relationship now has a lot of respect."

Nuno does not expect there to be an added edge to the match following the events towards the end of last season, although he is ready for a frosty reception from the Cardiff fans.

"It is the players who play, the teams, not the managers," he said. "It is the past, a new reality. Some of the players are different. It is a new game. It will be a tough game and we have to be ready and focused on our tasks.

"I am ready for the supporters, although they will not have a direct influence on the game. The reality with fans is that when you are away from home, you are not the special guest. So you have got to be ready for it."

Wolves head to the Welsh capital on a five-match winless run in the Premier League, which includes four defeats. Wing-back Jonny Otto is the only injury absentee for Wanderers as he continues his recovery from the knee injury he suffered during the last international break.
