West Ham United manager David Moyes has revealed that Ukrainian winger Andriy Yarmolenko has returned to first-team training and could feature in Wednesday's FA Cup fifth-round tie against Southampton.
The 32-year-old, capped 106 times for the national team, was given some time off away from football in the wake of Russia's invasion of his native Ukraine.
Moyes stated last week that the Yarmolenko was 'not in a good place' during what has been a "really difficult time for him and his family", but the Scotsman has since revealed that the winger has taken part in light training and he could travel with the Hammers squad to the South Coast.
"He came back in yesterday and did a bit of light training and we had a good chat, obviously he is really upset with the whole situation as many people are especially those from Ukraine so we will not rush him," Moyes told reporters at his pre-match press conference on Tuesday.
"I asked him to come in today and see how he feels and if he feels fine and up to it he will travel tomorrow with the team but if he does not then we will give him some more days off."
When asked whether a decision will be made today, Moyes replied: "Yes, it is a daily ongoing thing. We will give him the chance to go with his own feelings.
"We are speaking to him most days, the players were great with him yesterday, they tried to integrate him and made him feel really welcome, and his family. There is very little we can do. We have to just try and support him the best way we can."
Moyes also confirmed that West Ham have no new injury concerns, with Vladimir Coufal (groin), Angelo Ogbonna and Arthur Masuaku (both knee) all continuing their recoveries.
