Denmark goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard has left West Bromwich Albion after his contract was cancelled by mutual consent.

The 32-year-old had one year to run on the deal he signed at The Hawthorns after joining on a free transfer from Manchester United in August 2015.

Lindegaard, capped five times for the Danes, made just one appearance for the Baggies, starting September's League Cup defeat against Norwich City.

Following the return to fitness of Ben Foster, Lindegaard joined Championship outfit Preston North End for the second half of last season, playing 14 times.
