Javi Gracia says that he expects to remain in charge of Watford entering the 2018-19 campaign.

Javi Gracia has revealed that he expects to remain in charge of Watford entering the 2018-19 campaign.

Gracia replaced Marco Silva as head coach of the Hornets in January, but has lost eight of his 15 matches in charge of the club - recording just four wins in the process.

There has been speculation surrounding the future of the former Malaga and Rubin Kazan boss in recent days, but the 48-year-old is seemingly looking ahead to next season.

"I've already spoken many times with the owners and he's ambitious and looking to next season," Gracia told reporters.

"I don't know what happens in the future with different movements but I'm sure the owner will try to improve the level of the squad, the level of the team and try to improve the position in the table."

Meanwhile, Gracia responded "I think so" when asked whether he had been assured of his position.

Watford suffered a 1-0 defeat at Manchester United on the final weekend of the Premier League season to finish down in 14th position in the table.
