Swansea City announce that striker Bafetimbi Gomis has joined Ligue 1 side Marseille on a season-long loan.

Swansea City striker Bafetimbi Gomis has completed his move to Marseille on a season-long loan.

The 30-year-old moved to the Liberty Stadium from Lyon in 2014 and has gone on to score 17 goals in 71 appearances for the club.

Gomis made a prolific start to the 2015-16 campaign with four goals in as many games in August, but he found the back of the net just two more times in the Premier League throughout the rest of the season.

The France international will now return to his home country for the 2016-17 campaign as Marseille look to improve upon their 13th-place finish last term.

Gomis becomes the seventh player to leave the Swans on loan this summer.
