Joe Allen is happy with Stoke City's display in their 0-0 draw at Liverpool but admits that the Potters need some "good luck" to survive in the Premier League.

Joe Allen has praised Stoke City's performance in their 0-0 draw at Liverpool on Saturday, but admits that the Potters need some "good luck" to survive in the Premier League.

Reds attacker Mohamed Salah had a rare off day as Stoke dug in for a point at Anfield which lifts them to three points from safety with two games left to play.

However, the three teams above Stoke in the table - Swansea City, Huddersfield Town and West Ham United - all have two games in hand on Paul Lambert's side.

"We hope it is an important point," Allen told Sky Sports News at full time.

"We wanted three of course, it is tough, in the first half they created chances, defensively we can't ask for more, I hope it helps us.

"We need to take this performance into the next two games, have a bit more creativity and take our chances. We will do everything we can.

"I hate to be reliant on other teams, but that's the situation, let's hope for some good luck, hopefully our point puts pressure on some of the other teams."

Stoke are now without a win in 12 Premier League games, their longest run without a victory in the top flight since December 1984.
