Kevin Wimmer has signed a new long-term contract at Tottenham Hotspur.

The 23-year-old, who joined the North London outfit from FC Koln last year, has committed the next five years of his career to the club.

Last season, Wimmer was called upon to cover for Jan Vertonghen after the defender was hit with a lengthy injury spell.

The Austrian made 21 appearances in all competitions under manager Mauricio Pochettino in the 2015-16 campaign.

Wimmer was also included in his national side for Euro 2016, where he played in a group match against Portugal.
