Redknapp: 'I hope Bale returns to Spurs'

Harry Redknapp says that he would like to see Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale return to Tottenham Hotspur during the summer transfer window.

Harry Redknapp has suggested that Gareth Bale would be able to settle back into life at Tottenham Hotspur should he ever return to the North London outfit.

In 2013, Bale left Spurs to link up with Real Madrid and although the Welsh star has enjoyed a successful period at the Bernabeu, he is currently out of favour with Zinedine Zidane.

Manchester United have been frequently linked with Bale, but ex-Spurs boss Redknapp would like to see the forward spend another period back at his former club.

Redknapp told talkSPORT: "Gareth would be a great signing for Tottenham, it would be fantastic. He's an amazing player. He can play so many positions and in so many systems, there are so many strings to his bow, he's such a fantastic talent.

"Going back to Tottenham - if he comes back [to the Premier League] he would only go to a top-six club, but it would be nice to see him go back to Spurs."

Between 2007 and 2013, Bale scored 57 goals in 204 appearances for Spurs in all competitions.
