Tottenham Hotspur manager Nuno Espirito Santo brushes off any injury fears surrounding Cristian Romero as "fatigue" following Thursday's Conference League loss.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Nuno Espirito Santo has allayed fears of an injury for Cristian Romero following Thursday's Europa Conference League defeat to Pacos de Ferreira.

The Argentine was handed his competitive debut for Spurs in Portugal but had an evening to forget as Pacos claimed a 1-0 first-leg advantage thanks to Lucas Silva's winner.

Romero sparked concern when he was seen holding his knee towards the end of the game, but Santo has brushed off the defender's issue as "fatigue" and has affirmed that he is recovering well.

Speaking to the media ahead of Sunday's reunion with Wolverhampton Wanderers, Santo said: "I think it was due to fatigue, it was his first game in a while, he played 90 minutes intensely.

"In the second half we were unbalanced and there were a few situations, but I think it was fatigue. He is well today and he is recovering, but he is OK."

The Spurs boss also remained tight-lipped over Harry Kane's possible inclusion, but Tanguy Ndombele will not be part of the travelling party for the trip to Molineux.
