Barry Bannan has claimed that Virgil van Dijk has the ability to play for a side in the Premier League's top four.
The Dutch centre-back joined Southampton from Celtic in a £13m deal last summer.
Having watched Van Dijk in action against Leicester City this afternoon, Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Bannan described his performance as classy.
"Van Dijk is so, so good could easily play for top 4 team #classy," he wrote on Twitter.
The 23-year-old has been capped by the Netherlands at senior international level on three occasions.
