Result: Filip Duricic brace downs Scotland

Two second-half goals from Filip Duricic secure a 2-0 win for Serbia against Scotland in their World Cup qualifier.

Scotland have lost their World Cup qualifier in Serbia this evening, following two second-half goals from the hosts.

The visitors created few chances in the opening 45 minutes, while Zoran Tosic led the attack for the hosts in midfield.

Dusan Basta and Filip Duricic had efforts on goal, but David Marshall was able to prevent their shots putting Serbia ahead before half time.

Scotland thought they had taken the lead at the start of the second half, as Steven Naismith found the back of the net, but the Everton player was flagged for offside.

The home side broke the deadlock just before the hour mark, as Tosic dispossessed Jordan Rhodes in midfield before the ball eventually reached Duricic, who fired the ball past Marshall.

Duricic completed his brace just five minutes later, as Scotland failed to clear Serbia's previous effort, gifting the ball to the 21-year-old.

Branislav Ivanovic had a chance to make it three in stoppage time, but the Serbia captain's effort ran just wide of the post.

The result means that Scotland cannot qualify for the 2014 World Cup, while Serbia move above Wales into third place in group A.
