Portugal defender Pepe returns to training ahead of his nation's Euro 2016 final with France on Sunday.

Portugal have been handed a boost ahead of the Euro 2016 final after Pepe made a return to training.

The Real Madrid centre-back was forced to miss Portugal's 2-0 victory over Wales on Wednesday night with a thigh injury, leading to him emerge as a doubt for the Paris showdown with France.

However, after continuing his recovery away from the squad on Thursday and Friday, Pepe was pictured training alongside his 22 teammates on Saturday morning.

If deemed fit, Pepe is expected to replace either Jose Fonte or Bruno Alves in the centre of Portugal's defence.
