Mellon taking no chances against Oxford City

The League Two side have won back-to-back league games.

Tranmere boss Micky Mellon has pledged to field a full-strength side in the FA Cup tie against non-league Oxford City.

One confirmed absentee however will be Luke McCullough, who Doncaster have made unavailable for selection as part of their loan arrangement.

Zoumana Bakayogo could feature, having made his comeback against Manchester City Under-21s in the Checkatrade Trophy after four weeks out, before he was an unused substitute against Exeter at the weekend.

Evan Gumbs is pushing for more game time but a place on the bench could be all he gets.

Oxford City will be buoyed by the permanent signing of winger Bobson Bawling from Torquay.

Coach Mark Jones said: "I am delighted to turn Bobson's move into a permanent one. He is a player with great potential who we hope can play a big part for us this season."

The signing of Bawling could reduce the blow of the departure of midfielder Rob Sinclair and assistant manager Joe Deeney this week by mutual agreement, while Sam Nombe also joined last week.

Oxford will be hoping to carry on the form from their 4-2 Vanarama National League South clash against Hampton and Richmond Borough.
