Former Newcastle United manager John Carver is reportedly interested in returning to coaching in MLS.

Former Newcastle United manager John Carver could be set for a return to coaching in MLS, according to a report.

Carver, who was in charge at the Magpies from January until June before being dismissed at the end of last season, has been out of football since his exit from St James' Park.

However, Goal.com claims that he is interested in a return to the sport in the US after previously coaching MLS side Toronto FC from February 2008 until April 2009.

Carver led Newcastle to safety on the final day of last season with victory over West Ham United despite overseeing a run of eight consecutive Premier League defeats in his time in charge.
