Montpellier HSC reportedly show an interest in signing out-of-favour Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul.

Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul has reportedly emerged as a potential transfer target for Montpellier HSC.

Krul has made a total of 185 appearances for the Magpies since starting his professional career at St James' Park, but he has fallen out of favour under Rafael Benitez.

After a spell out injured, he dropped down the pecking order and due to Matz Sels, Karl Darlow and Rob Elliot all being ranked above him, he has since spent loan spells with Ajax and AZ.

According to The Chronicle, sources in France have said that Montpellier are ready to take advantage of his situation at the North-East outfit and may lodge an offer.

Krul has just 12 months remaining on his existing deal, and Newcastle would not stand in his way should they receive a suitable offer.
