Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how the Netherlands could line up for Monday's European Championship clash with North Macedonia.

Netherlands manager Frank de Boer may make several changes to his side against North Macedonia on Monday after Thursday's 2-0 win against Austria wrapped up top spot in Group C.

With a last-16 tie against one of the four best third-placed sides to focus on six days later, the 51-year-old is unlikely to take any risks on any players showing signs of injury or fatigue especially.

That means Manchester City's Nathan Ake should come into the defence in place of Daley Blind, who missed the last two months of the season with an ankle injury and was replaced during the second half of the win against Austria accordingly.

Likewise, Marten de Roon received a caution in the first half of Thursday's comfortable victory and would be banned for the first knockout round should he pick up another.

Highly-rated 19-year-old midfielder Ryan Gravenberch should receive a start in midfield alongside the superb duo of Georginio Wijnaldum and Frenkie de Jong, then.

Frenkie's namesake Luuk de Jong could replace Wolfsburg forward Wout Weghorst alongside Memphis Depay, who will be itching to add to his tournament tally after getting off the mark against Austria, with Patrick van Aanholt potentially rested to allow Owen Wijndal a start at left wing-back.

Netherlands possible starting lineup: Stekelenburg; De Vrij, De Ligt, Ake; Dumfries, Gravenberch, F. De Jong, Wijnaldum, Wijndal; L. De Jong, Depay
