Millwall are reportedly closing in on re-signing Middlesbrough midfielder George Saville, who previously spent two loan spells and a permanent stint at The Den.

Championship outfit Millwall have reportedly entered the advanced stages of talks to re-sign Middlesbrough midfielder George Saville.

The 28-year-old has previously embarked on two loan spells at The Den before joining permanently, in total making 67 appearances for the Lions before moving to the North-East in 2019.

However, Saville only has one year remaining on his contract at the Riverside Stadium and according to Football Insider, the South London club are keen to re-sign the Northern Ireland international.

The report suggests that negotiations are progressing well and terms are close to being finalised, but it remains to be reported the price at which the two clubs have agreed upon.

After arriving at Middlesbrough from Millwall for £8m, Saville has gone on to score 12 goals and provide eight assists in 118 appearances for the club.

Saville has demonstrated that he is a versatile player as he can play in a defensive or an attacking midfield role, and on either flank of the pitch.
