Norwich manager Daniel Farke urged his players and the fans to enjoy the moment after seeing his side score twice in stoppage time to secure a dramatic 4-3 win over Millwall at Carrow Road.
The Canaries made it five wins on the trot in the Championship in incredible fashion as Jordan Rhodes and Teemu Pukki turned the game on its head in the six minutes added on by referee Jeremy Simpson.
Pukki had cancelled out Tom Elliott’s first-half opener and then saw his penalty saved by Millwall goalkeeper Ben Amos before Moritz Leitner edged the Canaries in front.
But in an astonishing final 11 minutes, Ryan Leonard and Murray Wallace thought they had pinched the points for the Lions only for Rhodes to level and Pukki to pounce in the seventh minute of stoppage time.
Farke said: “It is important after a game like this for everyone to enjoy the moment, to feel the joy.
“I want them all to make the most of it because sometimes players can wonder why they are doing all this hard work and this is the reason.
“I am delighted for the players and also the supporters. We were all together and I am so pleased they will have this win to enjoy for a couple of weeks now we have another international break.”
Farke felt his side got what they deserved in the end, adding: “It was an afternoon when so much went against us but my players kept going and got the right result in the end.
“Millwall scored their opening goal from a free-kick which was never a free-kick and then we have a perfectly good goal disallowed before half-time.
“We equalise and then get a penalty and the goalkeeper is three yards off his line when he makes the save.
“After all that we finally got our second goal and then went behind again which was really disappointing – but after that the players were phenomenal.
“They stuck together and managed to come back again. We changed the system and went to 3-5-2 but although coaches can have ideas, it is the players who have to put them in action – and the fact we scored twice in injury time was no luck.
“For the first one it was a world-class pass and a cool finish and for the second it was another good pass and finish. It was a great moment for Teemu but I am proud of all the players.”
Millwall manager Neil Harris was understandably dejected afterwards.
He said: “It was a great game for the neutral and I am sure Daniel Farke is buzzing but I am bitterly disappointed we lacked the professionalism to see the game out.
“Fair play to Norwich we could nothing about their second goal but the other three were all avoidable.
“My six-year-old daughter plays in an under seven team and I think they would have been disappointed to concede the two goals we did at the end.
“I am the captain of the ship so I take responsibility but the players involved have to hold their hands up and say that’s unacceptable.
“They simply have to take up better positions and defend the box better. There were plenty of good things from the team – but that is no consolation right now.”
Harris also revealed striker Tom Bradshaw will be out for the season after tearing knee ligaments at Brentford last week.
