Adam Forshaw is keen to play his part in Middlesbrough's push for promotion, claiming that his side is "set to go to the Premier League" come the end of the season.

Middlesbrough midfielder Adam Forshaw had insisted that he can play a big part in the club's hunt for automatic promotion.

The 24-year-old has been used as a substitute in each of the Smoggies' last three games since recovering from an injury that kept him out of action for a month.

Forshaw, a January signing from Wigan Athletic, admits that his career has yet to fully take off at the Riverside Stadium, but is confident of doing his bit to help Boro over the line.

"I'm fit and raring to go and hopefully I can get in the team and help out," he told BBC Sport. "My Middlesbrough career hasn't been the best on the pitch. I haven't really had many injuries except for the few weeks I was out.

"I've had to bide my time and try to be patient, and I just want to play more games. Everything about the club is set to go to the Premier League and I want to be as much a part of that as I can."

Forshaw has started just nine games for Middlesbrough since joining earlier this year.
