Melbourne City hold league leaders Perth Glory to a draw as Richard Garcia cancels out Aaron Mooy's opener.

Melbourne City have held A-League leaders Perth Glory to a draw, which continues their good run of form that has included beating fierce rivals Melbourne Victory with a last-minute winner last week.

Aaron Mooy broke the deadlock minutes into the second half, after striking a free kick over Glory goalkeeper Danny Vukovic to give the hosts a deserved lead.

Just over 10 minutes later, Glory levelled the score through midfielder Richard Garcia as the Australian wrong-footed Tando Velaphi in the City net, as his downwards header bounced over the goalkeeper and into the home side's goal.

Glory failed to extend their lead at the top of the table to nine points, with second-placed Melbourne Victory having a game in hand.

The draw for City leaves them in sixth, three points ahead of Brisbane Roar and four behind Sydney FC in fifth.
