Manchester United will reportedly allow David de Gea to leave Old Trafford next summer if they can sign AC Milan teenager Gianluigi Donnarumma as his replacement.

Manchester United have reportedly decided to let David de Gea leave the club next summer if they can sign AC Milan teenager Gianluigi Donnarumma as a replacement.

The Spain goalkeeper has been linked with a return to his homeland with Real Madrid for several years now, but the Red Devils have stood firm on their asset.

Donnarumma, meanwhile, was on the verge of leaving San Siro in the summer, before ultimately putting pen to paper on a new deal until 2021.

According to The Sun, the 18-year-old will once again demand to leave Milan should they fail to seal a Champions League berth at the end of the current season.

The report suggests that, should this be the case, they will swoop for the Italian and allow De Gea to leave Old Trafford, with the Bernabeu the likely destination.

Donnarumma's agent, Mino Raiola, enjoys a good relationship with United, who currently have three of his clients in Paul Pogba, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Romelu Lukaku.
