Paris Saint-Germain reportedly join Manchester United and Bayern Munich in the race to sign Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane this summer.

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly joined the race to sign Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane in the summer transfer window.

The England captain's contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is due to expire at the end of next season, and speculation over his future is heating up once more.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy blocked Kane from leaving in 2021 amid firm interest from Manchester City, but talks to tie him down beyond 2024 have not progressed beyond a preliminary stage.

Since the protracted transfer saga of 2021, Tottenham have moved no closer to ending their 15-year trophy drought, and Kane will turn 30 this summer without having won a major piece of silverware.

Manchester United and Bayern Munich have long been considered the only two realistic contenders for Kane's signature, but according to Le Parisien, PSG are also in the picture.

Football advisor Luis Campos is believed to have made the England skipper the club's priority for the summer window, although much will depend on the future of their current star forwards.

Neymar is not expected to be on the way out this summer, but Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi are still being tipped to leave, with the former yet to have his 12-month extension until 2025 activated.

Mbappe has hinted that he is prepared to stay at PSG for at least one more year, though, announcing his desire to finally win the Champions League with Les Parisiens.

Messi, however, could walk away as a free agent at the end of the season, and his potential exit from the Parc des Princes would free up a space for Kane to cross the channel.

Levy and PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi are said to possess a strong relationship, but the latter should not expect any preferential treatment from the Spurs chairman during negotiations.

Tottenham could risk letting Kane enter the final year of his contract while discussions over a renewal remain ongoing, but their stance may change if the striker makes it clear that he will not put pen to paper.

Should Levy relent and entertain bids for Kane, the report adds that it would still take €100m (£88.3m) for Tottenham to consider parting ways with their all-time top goalscorer.

Kane has hinted that he wants to stay in the Premier League as he chases down Alan Shearer in the English top-flight scoring charts - the Tottenham man has 206 to his name, 54 short of Shearer's all-time record of 260.

However, Spurs would be reluctant to let Kane join a direct Premier League rival, and Levy is said to have made a personal vow not to do business with either Manchester club, as he still regrets letting Kyle Walker sign for Manchester City in 2017.

Kane - who has 25 goals from 42 appearances in all tournaments this term - is said to be stalling on contract talks until Spurs appoint a new permanent head coach, but he has been labelled "too old and too expensive" for Bayern by Germany legend Lothar Matthaus.
