Manchester United will reportedly prioritise the signing of a holding midfielder during the summer transfer window in an attempt to improve the form of Paul Pogba.

Manchester United are reportedly prioritising the signing of a defensive midfielder during the summer transfer window.

Boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been tasked with reshaping United's first-team squad, and additions are expected to be made in a number of areas.

Paul Pogba has been linked with an exit from Old Trafford, but the Daily Mail claims that United are doing what they can to improve the form of their record signing.

The report claims that bringing in a new holding midfielder is at the top of their to-do list ahead of the new campaign, with it being suggested that a fresh face is being targeted in order to free up Pogba further forward.

Lyon's Tanguy Ndombele is allegedly attracting attention from United, although the Frenchman is likely to receive bids from a number of top European clubs.

Pogba has just over two years remaining on his contract and Real Madrid have been credited with an interest in the 26-year-old.
