Manchester United reportedly identify Bayer Leverkusen's Kai Havertz as a potential alternative to Jadon Sancho amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Manchester United have reportedly identified Bayer Leverkusen's Kai Havertz as a potential alternative to Jadon Sancho.

Sancho is rumoured to be Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's number one target heading into the summer transfer window, although financial implications arising from the coronavirus outbreak could hinder United's plans to sign the Borussia Dortmund forward.

Indeed, executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has admitted that big-money moves are unlikely to take place in the wake of the pandemic, meaning that the Red Devils may have to seek alternatives to the £100m-rated Sancho.

According to the Evening Standard, Solskjaer's side are keeping a close eye on development surrounding Havertz, but Leverkusen are not budging on their price despite the ongoing crisis.

The report claims that the Bundesliga outfit intend to stand firm on their £90m valuation of the 20-year-old, who has also been linked with Liverpool and Chelsea in recent weeks.

The Germany international has registered six goals and five assists in 22 Bundesliga appearances this term, and is under contract at Leverkusen until 2022.
