Jose Mourinho is delighted with the performances of Marcus Rashford and Scott McTominay as Manchester United claimed a 2-1 Premier League win over Liverpool on Saturday.

Jose Mourinho has singled out Marcus Rashford and Scott McTominay for praise after Manchester United claimed a 2-1 win over Liverpool on Saturday.

Rashford scored a brace to help the Red Devils to victory at Old Trafford, while McTominay put in an impressive performance in midfield.

Speaking to Sky Sports News after the game, Mourinho was eager to pay tribute to the two youngsters, both of whom have come through the United academy.

"Marcus Rashford and McTominay - one scored two goals, special for a kid who feels the shirt in a special way because he was born here," the Portuguese told reporters.

"McTominay played with such class and maturity. He really impressed me because the crowd can push with their hearts and even when they were pushing him to do the wrong thing, he did the right thing."

Rashford is already an established England international, while McTominay is on the verge of a Scotland call-up with new head coach Alex McLeish a big fan of the 21-year-old.
