Manchester United and England defender Harry Maguire says that he has been "amazed" by teammate Marcus Rashford's performances for club and country this season.

Harry Maguire has hailed Marcus Rashford as the "most talented player" that he has played with and backed the Manchester United attacker to have an "exceptional career".

Rashford has enjoyed arguably his finest season yet since breaking into United's first team in 2016, scoring 18 times in all competitions before being struck down by injury in January.

Maguire has been impressed by what he has seen from his England international teammate, who he rates higher than the likes of Raheem Sterling and Jadon Sancho.

"I've always spoke so highly of Marcus when I was with him at England. I can't speak highly enough of him. I think he's going to go on to have an exceptional career," he told United's official podcast.

"I think he's going to go on to – I don't want to put too much pressure on him – be a wonderful player for Manchester United, as he is now."

Asked about the prospect of Rashford one day captaining United, Maguire added: "I think as a club, you should have a captain and rely on him, but you need to spread the onus of the leadership in the group.

"On the pitch, like I said, he's amazed me. He's the most talented player I've ever played with and I'm sure he's going to be a wonderful player for this club."

Meanwhile, Matteo Darmian has tipped Rashford to match the exploits of Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe.
