Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic believes that he would have been "even more phenomenal" if he had his current state of mind 10 years ago.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has said that he believes he has become a more rounded player in recent years, but admits that he could have been "even more phenomenal" had he learned to adapt a decade ago.

The Manchester United striker has hit the scoring trail wherever he has played during an illustrious career, winning titles with Ajax, Juventus, Inter Milan, AC Milan, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

Many doubted whether Ibrahimovic still had it in him to produce on a regular basis in his maiden campaign in English football at the age of 35, but he already has 12 goals in 22 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils.

Far from being content with his honours to date, Ibrahimovic feels that he could have achieved even more if he had his current mindset earlier in his career.

"I think I play much more intelligently now because, of course, you change a lot during the years," Sky Sports News quotes him as saying.

"You get a different physique; you get a different condition, strengths and experiences. But I wish I had the mind that I have today 10 years ago, because then I will be even more phenomenal."

Ibrahimovic is out of contract at Old Trafford at the end of the season, but manager Jose Mourinho recently revealed that he intends to take up the option of extending that by another year.
