Manchester United full-back Diogo Dalot says that he is "happy" after making his competitive debut for the club.

Manchester United full-back Diogo Dalot has said that he is "happy" after making his competitive debut for the club.

The 19-year-old, who signed from Porto in the summer, made his first appearance on Wednesday night as Jose Mourinho's men brushed Young Boys aside in the Champions League.

Speaking to BT Sport, the Portuguese defender said that he is pleased to be returning to Manchester with three points.

"It was very good. The team have helped me and prepared me for this. I am happy for the debut and for the win. That is most important. I think it was a good win," the youngster said.

"Most of the Young Boys team is used to playing on this pitch. We are not. It was tough but we needed to be prepared for that."

United's next Champions League game is against Valencia on October 2.
