Manchester United welcomed Stoke City to Old Trafford in the Premier League on Tuesday knowing that another slip-up would further harm their chances of finishing in the top four.
Man United were 2-0 ahead inside 23 minutes, however, with Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial both on the scoresheet for the home side, who put together arguably their best half of football this season.
Wayne Rooney then made it 3-0 early in the second period and that was where the scoring ended as Louis van Gaal's team returned to winning ways in the top flight.
