Manchester United forward Rasmus Hojlund has taken to social media to apologise to the club's supporters for the 3-0 loss to Newcastle United in the EFL Cup.

Miguel Almiron and Lewis Hall scored for Eddie Howe's side in the first half before Joe Willock registered a third for Newcastle on the hour mark at Old Trafford.
Man United head coach Erik ten Hag made seven changes to the side that took to the field for the Manchester derby, with Hojlund among those to drop down to the bench.

The Denmark international was introduced in the 64th minute alongside Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford, but he was unable to inspire the team to a late comeback in the competition.
Hojlund posted on Instagram after the match, with his message reading: "Sorry for today everyone."
The summer arrival from Atalanta BC has scored three times in 12 appearances for Man United this term, with all of his goals coming in the Champions League.
The 20-year-old is yet to get off the mark in the Premier League, playing seven times in the competition without finding the back of the net.
Hojlund is expected to be given another chance in Saturday's clash with Fulham, when he is likely to be recalled to the starting side due to Anthony Martial's lacklustre performance against Newcastle.
