Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer concedes that his team were far from their best against Young Boys in the Champions League.

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has conceded that his team fell below the standard that they expect from themselves in Tuesday's Champions League clash with Young Boys.

The Red Devils have work to do in Group H, having lost 2-1 to Young Boys in Switzerland in their European opener, despite taking the lead in Switzerland through Cristiano Ronaldo.

Solskjaer has said that the group are aware that "expectations are high", and the display in their Champions League group-stage opener was not of the required standard.

"We know the expectations are high and we expect more of ourselves as well, the performance wasn't up to our standard," Solskjaer told reporters during his press conference on Thursday.

Man United currently sit top of the Premier League table, though, and will resume their domestic campaign away to West Ham United on Sunday afternoon.

The Red Devils will also take on the Hammers in the EFL Cup on Wednesday before ending the month with home matches against Aston Villa and Villarreal in the league and Champions League respectively.
