Manchester United face a huge financial blow through sponsorship money if they fail to secure a top-four finish this term, according to a report.

Manchester United reportedly face suffering a huge financial blow through sponsorship money if they fail to secure a spot in next season's Champions League.

The Red Devils, who lost 1-0 at struggling Everton on Saturday, are currently seventh in the Premier League table, six points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur on the same number of matches (31).

According to The Mirror, Man United will not secure the performance-related bonuses in their lucrative contract with principal partner Team Viewer if they are not in the Champions League next term.

Meanwhile, it is alleged that kit supplier Adidas have a Champions League clause in their deal with the 20-time English champions.

As a result, the club's finances will take a huge hit if they are unable to navigate their way into a top-four position come the end of the campaign.

Arsenal's wobble continued on Saturday, as the Gunners lost 2-1 at home to Brighton & Hove Albion, but Tottenham beat Aston Villa 4-0 to take charge of fourth position.

Ralf Rangnick's side will be bidding to return to winning ways in the Premier League when they welcome basement side Norwich City to Old Trafford next weekend.
