The 34-year-old, who has one year left on his contract, has lost his first-team place to Eliaquim Mangala this season.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Demichelis is looking into whether to opt for a move during the January transfer window or to run his contract down.

Demichelis began his career in the youth ranks at River Plate as a 17-year-old in 1998 but left five years later for Bayern Munich and has played in Europe ever since.
