Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is allegedly keen to secure a reunion with midfielder Andres Iniesta, who is ready to leave Barcelona.

Manchester City have reportedly decided to join the race to sign midfielder Andres Iniesta, who appears ready to leave Barcelona.

Since the start of 2018, Iniesta has been linked with a lucrative switch to the Chinese Super League and it has been suggested that Chongqing Dangdai Lifan are the favourites to secure a deal with the player.

However, according to AS, City boss Pep Guardiola is ready to launch a late approach for the 33-year-old, who recently starred in Barca's 5-0 victory over Sevilla in the Copa del Rey final.

Iniesta turns 34 in May, but Guardiola allegedly wants to be reunited with a player with whom he worked during his successful period at Camp Nou between 2008 and 2012.

The club legend has made a total of 669 appearances for Barca in all competitions, having spent his entire career with the Catalan giants.
