Liverpool and West Ham United reportedly scout Sassuolo striker Gregoire Defrel ahead of a potential January bid.

Sassuolo striker Gregoire Defrel has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for both Liverpool and West Ham United.

Defrel has only scored seven times in 19 appearances for the Italian side this season but it appears that that has not put off the Premier League duo.

According to The Express, both the Reds and the Hammers have scouted the Frenchman, who has previously had spells at Cesena and Parma.

West Ham's biggest problems have come in defence but only two of their 17 Premier League goals this season have come from a recognised forward.

Liverpool have options in attack but Daniel Sturridge's future remains in doubt due to his fitness and lack of goals in the top flight.
