Liverpool reportedly reject a mammoth offer from a Saudi Pro League club who are interested in signing Darwin Nunez.

Liverpool have reportedly rejected a lucrative offer for the signature of Darwin Nunez.

The Uruguay international remains with a respectable record since arriving from Benfica in an £85m deal, contributing 37 goals and 21 assists from 122 appearances in all competitions.

However, as well as squandering a wide array of chances during Jurgen Klopp's reign, Nunez has netted just four times since the arrival of Arne Slot.

As it stands, Nunez is clearly not a first-choice pick under the Dutchman, yet it appears the Premier League leaders have no interest in cashing in on his signature.

According to Anfield Watch, a "verbal offer" has been turned down for his signature amid interest from the Saudi Pro League.

What are Liverpool demanding for Nunez?

The report claims that Al-Hilal have failed with a proposal that was said to be worth in the region of £70m.

Jorge Jesus - who knows Nunez from their time together at Portuguese giants Benfica - is the head coach at the current top-flight champions.

Liverpool are allegedly pushing to recoup the £85m that they agreed to pay for Nunez back in 2022, yet it is suggested that they may be willing to strike a compromise with a higher offer.

Nunez's stance on any potential exit remains unclear, that potentially being determined by how Liverpool react to any future offers.

He is still not halfway through his six-year contract at Anfield and may prefer to remain in a squad competing for an historic treble.

Nunez still a valuable squad option

Despite the criticism of his impact in the final third, Nunez still has 14 starts and 12 substitute outings to his name in all competitions.

Four assists have accompanied the four goals that he has scored, and Liverpool have remained successful with him in the team at a time when players such as Diogo Jota and Federico Chiesa have suffered fitness issues.

On the flip side, Liverpool have been linked with a move for Nuremberg attacker Stefanos Tzimas who has been suggested as a potential younger alternative to Nunez.

That said, the 19-year-old is currently plying his trade in 2. Bundesliga and may not be thrust into a battle for silverware immediately upon signing if a deal goes through.
