Liverpool are reportedly preparing a big-money offer for Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella.

The 24-year-old, who played a key role in Italy's Euro 2020 success, scored three times and provided 13 assists in 46 appearances for I Nerazzurri during the 2020-21 campaign.

Barella still has three years left to run on his contract at San Siro, but a recent report claimed that Liverpool had contacted Inter to discuss a potential move during this summer's transfer window.

According to La Repubblica, the Reds are now preparing a bid for the Italian, who is said to be valued by the Serie A champions in the region of £60m.

Inter are under pressure to sell some of their key players this summer due to their financial problems, although it is understood that the club are preparing a new deal for Barella.

The midfielder, who scored once and provided two assists in six outings at Euro 2020, has scored seven times and registered 21 assists in 87 appearances for his current side in all competitions.
