Defender Jon Flanagan is reportedly on the verge of signing a new three-year contract with Liverpool.

Jon Flanagan has reportedly reached advanced negotiations with Liverpool over a new contract.

The 23-year-old's current deal is due to expire at the end of the current season.

However, having recently proved his fitness following a 20-month layoff with a knee injury, the Merseysiders are said to be keen to tie the defender down to fresh terms.

According to The Mirror, Flanagan will soon sign a three-year extension with his boyhood club.

The right-back has made five appearances in all competitions this term.
