Pascal Gross says that he has been at the centre of dressing-room jokes at Brighton & Hove Albion after being linked with a mid-season switch to Liverpool.

Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Pascal Gross has insisted that he is "really happy" on the south coast and is not seeking a move to Liverpool.

Reports emerged earlier this month suggesting that the 27-year-old is a potential January target for Premier League leaders Liverpool.

Gross has been a key figure for the Seagulls since joining from Ingolstadt for a reported £3m 18 months ago, scoring seven times and assisting eight more in his debut campaign at the Amex Stadium.

The former Germany age-grade international has failed to maintain those high levels this season, but Liverpool are still reportedly willing to take a punt.

Asked about the speculation, however, Gross told The Argus: "I don't read the newspapers but then maybe some friends or here [at the club] someone sees it and makes a joke.

"I have got nothing to say about it. I am really enjoying and I'm really happy to play in the Premier League with Brighton. I hope we can continue as we have done. At the moment that is everything I care about. All the other stuff, that's not my business."

Gross only signed a new four-year contract with Brighton in June, but it has been claimed that Albion would be willing to sell if an offer of more than £16m is made.
