Liverpool midfielder Luis Alberto is reportedly wanted on a permanent deal by La Liga outfit Deportivo La Coruna.

Deportivo La Coruna have reportedly informed Liverpool of their desire to sign Luis Alberto on a permanent deal.

The midfielder has spent the ongoing campaign on loan with Deportivo, for whom he has scored six La Liga goals.

According to AS, the 23-year-old has done enough to convince the board at the Riazor to begin negotiations with their Premier League counterparts.

However, the report adds that Deportivo may face competition for the 23-year-old's services from Valencia.

Alberto has made just nine league appearances for the Reds following his arrival from Sevilla in 2013.

Head coach Gary Neville of Valencia CF looks on prior to the start the la Liga match between SD Eibar and Valencia CF at Ipurua Municipal Stadium on December 13, 2015 in Eibar, Spain.
