Liverpool have confirmed that goalkeeper Danny Ward will be named in the starting lineup for this evening's Audi Cup final against Atletico Madrid.
The 24-year-old has been selected by manager Jurgen Klopp to don the Reds shirt for the first time since May 2016.
During the club's pre-season schedule, Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius have shared the goalkeeping duties, and now Klopp wants to assess Ward's qualities.
The Wales international impressed during a loan spell at Huddersfield Town last season, helping the club to earn promotion to the Premier League via the playoffs.
The Reds will kick off their domestic season with a trip to Watford on August 12.
