A number of outlets claim that Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho will not contest his positive drugs test and will instead accept any UEFA-sanctioned punishment.

Widespread reports this morning have claimed that Mamadou Sakho has no intention of arguing against the result of his recent failed drugs test.

It is thought that the 26-year-old tested positive for a banned fat burner after Liverpool's 1-1 draw against Manchester United in the Europa League on March 17.

By law, the defender was given until today to request the analysis of a B sample, but it is believed that he has rejected the opportunity.

Instead, the France international has supposedly decided to accept any punishment that UEFA decides to sanction.

There have been suggestions that Sakho will be handed a suspension ranging anywhere between six and 12 months.
