Jurgen Klopp admits that his Liverpool side "deserved to lose" after their 3-1 defeat away at Swansea City.

Jurgen Klopp has conceded that his Liverpool side did not deserve to take anything from their trip to Swansea City this afternoon.

The much-changed Reds, who ended the game with 10 men following Brad Smith's red card, were on the wrong end of a 3-1 scoreline at the Liberty Stadium.

"We changed the lineup and with this lineup we can play much better football. We could explain a few things and it would sound like an excuse," the Liverpool boss told BBC Sport.

"We deserved to lose, they deserved to win, that's how football is on a bad day. I thought we lost a lot of easy balls, we weren't compact, there were a lot of things we could've done better. If we'd played a normal game, we could have won."

The result has left the Merseysiders seventh in the table with three matches left to play.
