Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino claims that his side "dropped two points" against Liverpool as they did enough to warrant victory.

Mauricio Pochettino has insisted that Tottenham Hotspur merited their late equaliser against Liverpool as they were "much better" than their opponents in the 2-2 draw.

The Lilywhites salvaged a dramatic point in Sunday evening's clash at Anfield through a 95th-minute Harry Kane penalty, four minutes after Mohamed Salah scored his second of the game to restore the Reds' advantage.

Spurs missed an earlier spot kick when the scores were level, with home goalkeeper Loris Karius equal to the effort, and Pochettino claims that a point was the very least his side deserved from the clash between the top-four challengers.

"It was an amazing game to watch. I was calm, because I think the team plays so well," he told BBC Sport. "The feeling is we dropped two points. We were much, much, much better than Liverpool.

"Both were a penalty and nothing to say, it is not controversial - it is nothing. Sometimes people complain about the referee, but when they are right it is good to tell everyone."

Liverpool remain third in the Premier League table, two points ahead of fifth-placed Tottenham.
