Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah reportedly has an outside chance of featuring against Leicester City if his next coronavirus test comes back negative.

Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah could supposedly be given the all-clear to face Leicester City on Sunday assuming his next coronavirus test comes back negative.

The 28-year-old contracted the virus while on international duty with Egypt and is currently self-isolating, with Salah's national teammate and fellow Premier League player Mohamed Elneny also returning a positive test recently.

Liverpool already have numerous absentees to contend with for the visit of Leicester, but the Reds could be handed a significant boost if Salah's test on Thursday shows that he is not infected.

In quotes attributed to the Daily Mail, Hossam Hosny - head of the Egyptian Ministry of Health's COVID-19 committee - said: "Salah is currently in El-Gouna to complete his quarantine and he will conduct another PCR test on Thursday, and I expect that his result will be negative because until now, the player hasn't shown any symptoms.

"Like any Egyptian citizen, Salah underwent all needed medical scans and tests that showed he is not suffering from any symptoms and he is now following medical protocol with self-isolation.

"Liverpool are communicating with us to check on Salah, and their medical staff have agreed that he will travel to El-Gouna. And Salah can return to England if his test result on Thursday is negative."

As a result, Salah has an outside chance of lining up for Liverpool against the Foxes, but the Egypt international is still regarded as a major doubt for the clash.
