Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp praises the attitude shown by out-of-favour striker Danny Ings, who has made just one substitute appearance so far this season.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has praised Danny Ings for the attitude he has shown despite a lack of first-team football so far this season.

The 24-year-old has made just one substitute appearance for the Reds in the current campaign having missed the vast majority of last season with a cruciate ligament injury.

Ings has spent much of the season playing for the Under-23s, with Roberto Firmino, Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi ahead of him in the pecking order, but Klopp confirmed that he will be involved in the squad for Tuesday's EFL Cup clash with Tottenham Hotspur.

"If I was less sensitive I would say that is his job, but I am sensitive and I know that is not easy. He has taken the situation in a perfect way," he told reporters.

"But it is all for him. He was a long time injured. He is fit now, everything is good and, with his attitude, all will be good in the end.

"At the moment his situation is not too easy - we have Roberto, Daniel and Divock, so there is not a lot of space - but he will be involved in the squad tomorrow."

Ings has made just six Premier League appearances for Liverpool since joining from Burnley in the summer of 2015.
